Hey there! My name is Jenna Beard and I was nominated to attend the NYLF Envision Medical Program this summer at Chapel Hill. Going into the medical field has been my dream from a young age. It started when I found out my hips were formed wrong due to having hip dysplasia when I was born. This realization brought me into the world of medicine. Visiting the orthopedic doctor became a regular activity of mine, as well as having hip surgeries. While the whole surgery process has not been fun, I realize now that it was God’s way of introducing me and involving me into this field of work. I have developed a passion for medicine, and this program is something that will benefit me immensely. This program involves lectures and meetings with prominent doctors, visits to a medical school campus, hands-on practice with diagnostic tools, and lectures on health care careers. It is such a privilege to have been invited to this program, and I can’t even explain how excited I am for this opportunity! Any amount of donation helps, and I appreciate it all so much!
