Help Jenna get her first wheelchair

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Jenna and I am raising funds for an active wheelchair and motorised attachment. I have already been measured and decided on the Quickie Argon 2 for my wheelchair, which will cost £2840. As for the motorised attachment I am still researching, but this could cost £2500+. Both together are over £5500, so I'm looking for some help, as every other avenue for help for funding has failed.

This is something really important to me, and as an Autistic person the change as been really difficult and I haven't been able to take part in any of my hobbies. I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome in October 2025, Myalgic Encephamylities in December 2025 and more recently Hypermobilty is being explored. All of these conditions are energy limiting and are dynamic disabilities, meaning that symptoms can vary day to day. My life has durastically changed in the last year. I went from playing Ice Hockey, Football, learning golf, riding my motorcycle, photography and going to events and car shows, to struggling to walk more than 15 minutes without pain, fatigue and tachycardia. Having the wheelchair and motorised attachment will give me some of my life back and some more independance.

Leaving the house is like planning a military operation, and every walk is like running a marathon. Put the two together, and it makes every outing exhausting and it causes flare ups every time I try to venture into society. I am at a place in my chronic illness journey where I want to and can start venturing back out into the world, little by little. Whether that's a cheeky trip to the book shop, a couple of hours at the local wildlife park or the supermarket. I used to be a very active person and I have many interests, so it would be nice to be able to enjoy them again, even if that means in a different way.

The picture you see first, is of the first time I got to see how much of a difference using a wheelchair can make. We went to a honey farm for a couple hours, which did have some lovely walking paths and small sessions like making your own candle or learning about the honey making process. This sort of trip would normally have caused a major flare up with me experienceing debilitating fatigue, muscle aches, joint pain, presyncope, tachycardia and more for a few days afterwards. With the wheelchair, the post trip affects were substantially less because of the reduced strain on my body. My condition varies day to day. which means that one day I am able to walk a short distance with little consequences, but the next day I'll just about make it to the sofa. So far the only activity I can do is Air rifle shooting because it involves little exertion and plenty of rest time, whilst also being able to adapt to my conditions when needed by taking part sitting down. but I still don't always make it there.

The funds raised will be used to purchase the wheelchair and motorised attachment directly from a mobility store. I've also added a photo of what it is I am aiming for, so you get an idea of what it looks like.

I do have goals to try and do whatever activities I can, but the wheelchair will make things a lot easier. It would be awesome to have at least the chair by the 21st if July so I can join my boyfriend on his birthday out to the Cotswold Wildlife park! Anything towards the cost is a huge help.

Thank You xx
