I am honored to share that I have been awarded 3rd place in the DAR Sculpture contest, with the award presentation taking place this June in Washington DC. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I would love to attend the ceremony in person. While in DC, I also hope to spend a couple of extra days researching additional family lines who participated in the American Revolution. This research is deeply meaningful to me, as it helps preserve and honor my family's legacy and continue Grandma Kass’s quest in family history documentation.
To confirm these family connections, I need to obtain official birth, marriage, and death documents for about eight descendants. Unfortunately, these records come with fees, and online resources like Ancestry.com aren’t sufficient for the verification required. The costs for travel, lodging, and document fees add up quickly, and I am not able to cover them all on my own.
I am truly humbled to receive this award and even more humbled to ask for help in making this trip and research possible. Thank you so much to my family and friends who have encouraged me to start this campaign and celebrate this achievement. Any support you can offer will help me honor my family’s history and make the most of this incredible opportunity.
