Help Jenna and Wesley Overcome Vet Bills

Hi, we’re Jenna and Wesley, and this is our cat, Sushi. For the past six or so months, Sushi has been with my in-laws. About two weeks ago, he stopped eating, leading to significant weight loss. We took him to the vet, and he was severely dehydrated. They conducted blood tests to check for kidney failure and diabetes, ultrasounds to detect any masses, and discovered that his gallbladder walls were slightly thickened, and his liver was darkened. As a result, they prescribed antibiotics, tube feeding, and other treatments. Initially, he seemed to be improving, but on Wednesday night, he suddenly spiked a fever. Although they managed to bring it down, they had to place him in an oxygen kennel the following day. They suspected an underlying heart disease, but no definitive diagnosis was made. Unfortunately, his red blood cell count plummeted from 42% to 12% early Saturday morning. This morning, at 5 am, I received a voicemail from the doctor informing me that his breathing had become increasingly difficult, and he was no longer able to get to the litter box to use the bathroom. Our final call came in at 10 am, with the doctor explaining that his condition had worsened since the previous call, and they believed he might not make it the rest of the day. We decided to visit him one last time and said our goodbyes, allowing him to cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Unfortunately, we had to pay for all the medical expenses at once, effectively maxing out Wesley’s credit card. While we expected financial difficulties, the actual cost was 50% higher than we had anticipated. Despite both of us working, we do have rent to pay, car payments, insurance, groceries, and other essential expenses. This medical bill has put a significant strain on our finances, making it challenging to cover any of these obligations.
