Help Our Beloved Friend and Hero Recover
We are reaching out with a heartfelt plea to support a remarkable woman—a friend, family member, sister, and dedicated healthcare worker—who has touched countless lives with her strength, compassion, and resilience. Many of you know her story, but for those who don’t, she is a true inspiration who needs our help now more than ever.
Who She Is
You may know her from her childhood as an army brat, moving around the world with her father, a 4-star general. Perhaps you met her in the ICU, where she worked tirelessly as a nurse, saving lives or with hospice guiding families through the loss of loved ones with dignity and care. Maybe you’ve followed her incredible running career, marveling at how she pushes beyond human limits, or you admire her as a survivor of domestic violence, giving hope to others through her courage. You might know her as a devoted single mom to her four amazing children, or you’ve followed her harrowing health battles—a snake bite, a brain tumor, a shoulder replacement, and now, a debilitating cardiac arrhythmia.
Her Struggles
This incredible woman has faced unimaginable challenges, yet she’s always risen again, fighting, running, climbing, and even bowling to show the world what resilience looks like. But this latest round of cardiac issues has taken a devastating toll. She has lost her insurance, and the financial strain has made her hesitant to seek the medical care she desperately needs. Too often, hospitals send her home prematurely, likely due to her lack of funds. Right now, she’s struggling to keep her family afloat and is at risk of losing everything she’s worked so hard for.
Why We Need Your Help
This is our chance to come together and lift up someone who has inspired and supported so many. Your donation, no matter the size, will help cover her medical expenses, provide stability for her family, and give her the chance to focus on healing without the constant fear of financial ruin. Let’s show her the same love, strength, and compassion she’s given to others throughout her life.
How You Can Help
Please contribute to this GoFundMe campaign to help her get back on her feet. Every dollar makes a difference, and sharing this campaign with your network can amplify our impact. Thank you for your generosity and support. Let’s show her that she is not alone.
Jenn's Story
For those who don’t know her full story, she is a woman of extraordinary grit and grace, and her journey is one of triumph over adversity. Her full story is below.
Jenn, a mother of four and a registered nurse with 30 years of experience, has lived in Colorado since 2013. She spent nearly 20 years in ICU caring for the critically ill and the last decade in hospice care. Since 2014, Jenn has faced severe health challenges:
• 2014: Survived a near-fatal rattlesnake bite, requiring weeks of hospitalization and extensive rehabilitation to regain mobility.
• 2017: Diagnosed with a large benign brain tumor (meningioma), underwent 10+ hour neurosurgery, leaving her with vision impairment, balance issues, hearing loss, chronic headaches, and other complications. She required a year of rehabilitation but retained permanent balance, headache, and vision issues.
• 2018: Lost her father and underwent eye surgery to address vision problems, restarting balance rehabilitation.
• 2020: Lost her mother, who she had been taking care of for two years, leaving Jenn without her main support and best friend.
• 2024: The brain tumor regrew, pressing on critical structures like the brainstem, and was deemed inoperable. Underwent radiation therapy, which was debilitating. A second tumor was identified and is being monitored. Steroids for brain swelling caused severe esophagus/stomach damage and destroyed her shoulder joint, which required replacement.
• Ongoing: Post-shoulder surgery, Jenn faces intensive rehab, esophageal treatment, and persistent brain swelling requiring steroids. A worsening heart arrhythmia necessitated a procedure in August, with complications leading to extended hospitalization.
Jenn lost Medicaid coverage on July 31, 2025, due to a national policy change, as her disability income pushed her over the limit. This delayed critical care, including an 8-hour delay in seeking help for severe chest pain due to unaffordable hospital bills, now in the five-figure range for August alone. A critical monthly brain tumor injection costs $1,000. Severe malnutrition requires unaffordable intravenous treatment, and she cannot access prescribed physical, occupational, and vestibular therapies or continue psychotherapy for complex PTSD due to lack of insurance.
Her severe malnutrition now makes simple tasks like doctor visits or short walks extremely difficult, threatening her family’s stability and her ability to recover.
Jenn’s husband is on emergency family leave as her caregiver, supporting their two children at home—one a recent high school graduate, the other in nursing school. Relocating is not feasible due to her complex medical needs and specialized care team.
