Help Jenn pay for chemo treatments

Jenn is a 4th-grade teacher at Wiregrass Elementary, in Wesley Chapel, Florida when she joined the staff 2 years ago.  As a music teacher there, I learned pretty quickly that Jenn had a love for teaching and had a background in dancing.  I immediately asked her to help choreograph our musicals.  Fast forward to the present and our friendship has grown so much since then.  We share our love of Disney and advocacy for children with special needs.

In April 2020, Jenn saw what looked like a pimple or blocked duct. When it didn’t go away in May, she went to the doctor.  The doctor prescribed her antibiotics and told her it was nothing of concern.   Since Jenn was almost 40,  she received special permission from her insurance to let her get a mammogram early. To this day, every doctor she has seen says that "little pimple” had NOTHING to do with her breast cancer.   But that "little pimple" saved her life. Without it, Jenn probably wouldn’t have gotten her first mammogram until much later.   Had she waited, Jenn's story would probably be much different.

After electing to have a double mastectomy in September 2020, the oncologist reported he was able to remove all of the cancer with the additional good news that it did not spread to the lymph nodes.  Unfortunately, once the pathologist's report came back it showed a much different picture.   Although the mastectomy took all of the cancer and none of it spread, there is still a possibility that some cancer may be circulating in her body.  It was recommended that due to the type of cancer she had, HEr2 positive(hormone-induced cancer), and the size of the tumor, she would need to have chemo treatments.  The treatments will be every 3 weeks for an entire year.

Mastectomy surgery, recovery, loss of work, and now with the addition of chemo treatments and additional time off from work, Jenn's medical bills are adding up quickly.  Although she has medical insurance, there is still quite a bit of out of pocket expenses.  Her amazing and supportive husband, Terry,  has been missing some work to help with her care.   Her 2 sons, Bryce and Dylan are working extra hard to keep mommy healthy by attending school online.   The sacrifices that her family is making so she can fight this cancer is inspiring.

So once again I need to call upon Jenn's amazing village for support. Many of you have already donated meals and/or money for her mastectomy, and she is forever grateful for your support!  Now she is going to need additional financial support during the next year as she beings her chemo treatment.  She has been a wonderful friend to me in the last year and I wanted to be able to help ease some of her financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis.  If you feel the need, please help out my friend, Jenn, with a small donation of support while she continues her battle to kick cancer's butt!
