Jennifer Buher Kane, a brilliant researcher, a loving wife, a generous friend, and a devoted mom to three beautiful, sweet, energetic young boys (ages 4,7,8), has been fighting a difficult battle against breast cancer since she was diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma, a very aggressive form of breast cancer, about eight months ago.
After more than six months grinning and bearing her way through a punishing chemotherapy schedule, Jenn’s situation went from bad to worse recently. Earlier this month, Jenn went to the ER to address the severe pain she felt, and her doctors discovered the cancer had spread to her liver and cerebrospinal fluid.
As much as Jenn, her husband John, and their family have tried to fight their way through this nightmare without asking anything of anyone, the medical expenses up to this point have put them in a tough place financially before even facing what is to come now that the cancer has spread. After strong encouragement from those of us who care so much about them, they have reluctantly agreed to allow their friends to organize a Go Fund Me effort on their behalf.
Jenn and John never thought they would be in this position. Neither would probably any of us. But tragically, it could happen to any of us at any time. And no one should have to worry about money when they need to focus entirely on fighting cancer and taking care of their kids.
So won’t you please help Jennifer and her family by contributing financially, whether in a modest or momentous way? All funds raised will go toward her cancer treatment and related costs.
Thanks to you all in advance for your generosity, and for all of the support so many of you have provided to the family in a multitude of ways since Jenn’s diagnosis.
