I am a first-generation college student from a low-income hispanic family and recently I was involved in a serious car accident that has made it even harder for me to afford college. Before the accident, I was already struggling to make ends meet, but now the financial stress has become overwhelming. I am very worried about how I’ll pay for school, and I can’t visit home or travel to work like I used to. It’s been difficult to focus on my studies with so much uncertainty hanging over me. I am only a second year UC Santa Barbara student studying Mathematics.
My family has always worked hard, but as a low-income household, we rarely get opportunities for extra help. I don’t want this burden to fall on my grandparents, who are already struggling to keep a roof over our heads. That’s why I’m reaching out for support.
Any help you can give will go directly toward my tuition and paying off the fines from my accident. Your support would mean the world to me and my family, and would help me stay in school and work toward a better future. Thank you so much for considering a donation and for being part of my journey.
