Greetings Family, I wanted to share what’s been happening in my life and why I’m reaching out for help. I’ve been admitted to the cardiac unit at Sinai Hospital because my heart isn’t responding properly to the fluids and blood flow in my body. Since a fall in January, I’ve been dealing with swelling that never went away, and after many tests, the doctors discovered it’s due to my heart not pushing out fluid as it should. This has made it hard for me to breathe and sing, and it mimics asthmatic symptoms. I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, which stems from losing my heartbeat during surgery in 2017 and being in a coma afterward. I had to relearn my motor skills and cope with memory loss, and these health issues have been ongoing for months.

Because of my hospitalization, I’m unable to work and am facing the possibility of losing my home and belongings, which are currently in storage. The funds raised will help me cover rent, utilities, and storage costs while I recover over the next six months. I’ve spent decades sharing my music and love with my community, and now I’m asking my village for support in return. Even a small donation will help me keep my home and focus on healing.
