Help J’ena Overcome Car Accident Setback
Donation protected
In December 2022, J’ena lost her job during a round of lay-offs at KEEN after just having been promoted to a role she worked years to land. She wasn’t the only one in the tech industry facing this scenario, though, as she promptly found herself struggling to reenter a saturated job market. She began doing gig work and delivery services like Instacart and DoorDash to get by as she worked to find stable income and make a meaningful career shift.
Then, she began to face a string of major car issues. The repairs were costly and they prevented her from being able to work or get hired at any kind of job that requires reliable transportation. Despite this, with support from family and friends, she was able to skim by.
With her car fixed and running smooth again, she was finally making headway. But on August 10th 2024, as she was preparing to leave for work, she heard a loud crash followed by someone yelling in pain right outside her home. An uninsured man had crashed into her parked car and was pinned between it and his truck. She immediately called 911, kept him calm and helped stop the bleeding. She saved his life.
But her car was totaled.
And now she faces another 3-4 weeks of having no car as she waits for her insurance to process the title transfer and settlement claim.
Because of the loss of her car and the impact to her income, J’ena is struggling to pay rent this month and tend to basic living costs. She needs our help. So we are asking for the community’s support.
We set the goal at $4,000 to help cover August and September’s rent plus basic living expenses as she waits for her settlement and finds a new car for work.
Please help with anything you are able to help with. J’ena is a bright light of positivity and love and generosity and creativity and deserves every ounce of support possible right now. Let’s help set her on a course to end this string of hardship and on to a bountiful path of support, opportunity and stability.
Thank you!
