Help Jena get Cancer Treatment!

Life is precious,  unpredictable, an incredible blessing....and extremely fragile.

On November 6th of 2020,  one of the most generous, caring souls I know, my mom, Jena, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - A cancer that typically shows little mercy and is quite the battle to overcome.  But those of you who know her, know that she doesn't back down from a challenge - She rises up, and overcomes. I fully believe that her powerful mental strength is what's helped her do so well in this nothing but up-hill battle.

When she first found out she had cancer, her CA-19 (cancer blood marker) level was at 973 - a number that, in healthy people, should be less than 35.  In just a few short weeks it jumped to 1,200. Then 1,500 and landed at 1,800 when we arrived in Mexico. After 3 weeks of alternative care treatment her CA-19 level dropped down to 500.  Her tumor, which had been growing at an excessive rate up until then, stopped growing...  It was working! But, in order to keep her cancer at bay, and enhance her own immune system's ability to fight the disease, she needs more treatment.  That's why, although neither of us has ever been any good at asking for help, we have decided to reach out as we can't do this alone.

Costs for these treatments are $35,000/mo. with a minimum of 3 months of continuous treatments being recommended by the Dayspring center in Scottsdale, AZ. Follow up and in-home care (equipment, supplements, vitamins), once she leaves the facility, will be costly as well. With her current response to treatment, they believe that their treatments CAN slow down or even stop the progression of her disease... and, in my mom's words, "Lord willin' and the crick don't rise... maybe even kill the tumor altogether! Wouldn't that just be the best!"

Our hope is to raise enough money to get her the care she needs to assist us in moving forward towards relief and possible cure. Since stopping the treatment in Mexico, her levels have begun to rise again and so time is of the essence.

A little more insight:
In November, she sold her home of almost 20 years and has been paying for alternative cancer treatment in Mexico with those proceeds (from Dec. 2020,and into Feb. 2021). Thanks to my VERY understanding husband, we packed up our family and headed to California, where he and the girls stayed, so that I could go to Mexico with her.  I was concerned, maybe even terrified, at the idea of her doing this on her own..... But what I learned is that she is SO much stronger than I ever imagined. Her attitude, her ability to find answers, research, and find solutions, blew me away.  Her knowledge of health and healing was far beyond comprehension for me. She was, and still is, ready to beat this cancer.

Even through the worst of it, she managed to muster up a smile (even if I occasionally had to force it out of her), and a positive attitude almost every single day.  Mental health through cancer is extremely important and not always easy. But thankfully, she's crushing it in that department. She somehow continues to take every hurdle with grace and peace. When I get upset for the unnecessary things that she's been put through, and how horrible her doctors have been, she reminds me that negative energy is not something either of us needs, or can handle really, in our lives right now - How that particular fight isn't as important in the big picture.

One of my favorite things about my mom during these past 5 months is that she hasn't ever expected anything from anyone.  She hasn't expected anyone to feel sorry for her, or be there in any particular way....yet her friends, from far and wide, have been showing up. If nothing else, she's received enough love and guidance from her friends, and the universe, to know that she is, without a doubt, not alone in this...  With that said, she and our family are grateful for any and all financial contributions or anything else your heart feels called to offer. Your energetic offerings are of great value and we sincerely appreciate them as well!

I will continue to update you all on her journey, and remain eternally grateful for the kind words and support we've been receiving from all of our friends. We believe that your well wishes, prayers, virtual hugs, and visualizations have had, and will continue to create, a huge positive impact in our journey. It's been just me and my mom since as long as I can remember, but through these past five months especially, I've come to realize that our "family" is MUCH bigger than I'd ever imagined.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to the cliff notes of our crazy story.

With love,
Chelsea

** I have a personal, more detailed, note from my mom for anyone who is interested in reading it. Whether you know her, or just want to know more about where she is in her experience, if you are interested please feel free to email or text me and I'd be happy to forward it along.

Thank you, again, for all of your support! <3
