Help Jen Save Piggy's Eye: Urgent Need

I had to rush Piggy to the vet this past Monday, 4/21/25, for an emergency. I noticed his right eye was swollen shut. When I opened it, his pupil looked horrible with cloudiness and it had some type of injury on it. He doesn't have eyelashes being a Sphynx, so his eyes are already sensitive and have to be cleaned daily for eye boogies.

He was diagnosed with a severe large corneal ulcer after they put adrenaline in his eye to numb it, then stained his cornea for the diagnosis.

They put him on liquid pain medication because it's very painful as it is swollen shut, as well as a strong eye antibiotic and also a cornea gel.

The corneal ulcer is NOT something that will heal on its own. Medical intervention is the only way to save his eye.

He will need to see the eye specialist. He may also need to have the eye/cornea debrided based on the size and consistency of the ulcer.

The wait time to get in to see the specialist is currently a couple of weeks.

He will be seeing Dr. Carmen Colitz. He was actually treated by Dr. Colitz back in 2021 when Piglet developed Horner's Syndrome and we absolutely loved her and her staff.

However, the reality is the consultation alone can be around $500, NOT counting any treatment which is separate.

Depending on the severity of the ulcer, the price range is roughly estimated to be between $1700-$3500 to start.

Living alone and just trying to pay my rent and daily bills is a struggle in itself.

At this time, there is just no wiggle room left over for an emergency of this magnitude of trying to save his eye.

This absolutely kills me to even ask for help to save his eye.

However, it's not about me, it's about doing everything I can to save my child's eye. So, I am having to humble myself and reach out for help in this emergency.

Care Credit or a credit card are not an option. My credit won't allow it from past mistakes, which I am trying so hard to dig out of.

I have already tried and have been denied in all aspects, right down to a personal loan.
