Help Jen and Her Kids Through This Crisis

I am Averyl and I'm setting up this fundraiser for my friend Jen (many know her from her extensive advocacy work as Jen Nifer) .

Jen is an amazing mother to her 3 great children: Ayden, April, and her youngest little 6-month-old, Elora.

On Friday, March 28th, 2025, Jen was sitting in her fiancé's living room feeding baby Elora. While in the other room, her fiancé received a text from Jen that just didn't make any sense. Rushing back into the living room, he found Jen slumped on the couch. Subconsciously, Jen must have known something was wrong and sent him a text for help while holding baby Elora in a way that protected her from dropping.

Jen was admitted into the hospital where testing found a blood clot in her head near her brain and that her thyroid has completely shut down. Today, April 1st, as her condition continues to deteriorate, she has been transferred from the hospital near her home in New Hampshire to one of the major hospitals in Boston.

It's stressful enough being in the hospital, but add the additional stresses of childcare while she's in the hospital, food for the kids while the primary cook is in the hospital, gas traveling back and forth to the hospital, especially now that she's being transferred to a hospital in another state, tolls, parking, and any additional medical costs that might come up is more than she should have to worry about.

Jen is also exclusively breastfeeding baby Elora. Being in the hospital, and the serious reality that she will be undergoing surgery, she will not be able to continue exclusively breastfeeding and is not sure she has enough saved, so she is having to switch to bottles and possibly formula.

Jen has been an amazing advocate for her community while also running charitable events to support families with food and gifts during the holidays.

I'm hoping we can come together as a community to help Jen by lessening some of these burdens that weigh on her while she tries to heal.
