From the grateful parents:
"As we prepare to welcome baby #4 — our final sweet addition — we are filled with so much love and gratitude for this growing chapter of our family.
At the same time, this pregnancy has been one of the most challenging seasons we've walked through. Amidst the excitement, this pregnancy has also brought significant prenatal depression and anxiety. There have been beautiful moments, but there have also been heavy ones. As we've walked together through these peaks and valleys, I've felt a deep longing to redeem this experience — to welcome this baby in a way that feels intentional, peaceful, and healing.
Home birth has always been something I've felt drawn to. The idea of laboring in the comfort of our own space, surrounded by calm, with care that feels personal and unrushed, speaks deeply to my heart. But this time, it feels even more important. It feels like an opportunity to close this chapter of childbearing in a way that honors both the struggles and the strength this pregnancy has required.
We are currently interviewing midwives as we choose the provider who will support us throughout this home birth. The total cost for comprehensive midwifery care — including prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care — ranges between $7,500–$8,200, depending on the provider we ultimately choose.
All funds raised will go directly toward the midwife who will be providing our care, covering the extensive prenatal appointments, on-call support as we approach labor, skilled care during delivery, and continued postpartum visits for both mom and baby. Unfortunately, home birth services are not covered by insurance and must be paid fully out of pocket.
Why We're Asking for Support
Choosing a home birth isn't about rejecting medical care — it's about choosing a model of care that feels emotionally supportive, empowering, and aligned with what our family needs in this season. The cost reflects the licensed professionals we are seeking — providers who can offer attentive prenatal care, skilled support during labor and delivery, and the expertise needed should any complications or emergencies arise. With this being our fourth and final baby, this birth carries so much meaning for us. It's our last first cry. Our last time preparing tiny clothes. Our last postpartum season. We deeply want to step into it feeling supported, safe, and surrounded by peace.
If you feel led to support us financially, we are so grateful. If giving isn't possible, sharing this page or keeping us in your thoughts and prayers means just as much.
Thank you for helping us create a gentle, intentional, and healing welcome for our baby.
With love and gratitude,
Jen and Cody"
