Jen Allan is someone who has always worked hard, supported herself and lived with quiet resilience. Today, she is facing an incredibly difficult chapter, and she needs our help.

Jen suffers from severe, acute and debilitating migraines that now last upwards of a week. These migraines are painful and affect her sight. Complete diagnosis and treatment are being sought but right now the migraines incapacitate Jen and render her unable to work.

Her migraines are triggered by many things, but primarily scents that are prevalent in everyday products. Avoidance of situations where any of these products have been used has led to social isolation. Everyday activities that many of us take for granted such as taking public transit or using shared laundry are not possible.

Jen no longer has any meaningful income. Her small pension payments do not cover basic monthly costs such as housing, groceries or medical treatments.

Right now, she is simply trying to survive while she waits for her disability claim to be settled.

As Jen’s friends, we are coming together to help support her in this time of need, as she has done for so many of us in the past. Jen is not someone who asks for help easily, but is facing financial collapse.

We are looking to raise $9,000, which would cover basic needs only for the next six months. If we can raise more, Jen would be able to access medical treatment as well.
