Our dear friend Jeff (the whippet) was taken ill over the weekend and subsequently diagnosed with lung lobe torsion. The vets said this was likely as a result of the cancerous cells they found in his liver, kidney and other organs.

Jeff’s humans Abby & Ally made the devastating but brave decision for him to be put to sleep peacefully this afternoon. He would have been 5 in September.

The vet bills surpass Jeff’s insurance cover by a huge percentage and we’d like to help Abby & Ally alleviate some financial strain as they are both grieving the loss of their beloved (fat) boi.

Abby would like to thank everyone in the community for all the love they gave Jeff and how proud she is of the community he has created in Hackney with the Hackney sighthound WhatsApp group and friends of Off Lead.

If donations surpass the amount due for Jeff’s care the rest will be donated to a charity of Abby’s choice.
