What was supposed to be a routine colonoscopy and endoscopy has unexpectedly turned into a frightening and life-changing medical emergency for Jeffrey. Following serious medical complications, Jeffrey had to be airlifted to a hospital, where he has remained since Friday, August 21st and continues to be on a ventilator in the ICU. During this time, there have been moments of hope as well as difficult setbacks. Jeffrey was able to come off the ventilator for a period of time, but unfortunately had to be placed back on ventilator support after his oxygen levels dropped. He has also developed pneumonia, and further testing discovered multiple blood clots in and around his lungs.

At this time, there are still many unknowns. Doctors continue to closely monitor Jeffrey, perform testing, and treat these complications while working to understand what his road to recovery may look like. What we do know is that Jeffrey has already been through so much, has a long journey ahead of him, and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future.

The hospital Jeffrey was airlifted to is approximately six hours away from where he currently lives in British Columbia. With Jeffrey so far from home, there are significant and unexpected costs for accommodations, travel, meals, and other necessities while his loved ones remain close by to support him.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on Jeffrey during his recovery. All funds raised will go toward supporting Jeffrey, including his loss of income while he is unable to work, his ongoing expenses and bills, and the costs associated with his care and recovery in the weeks and months ahead. Our hope is to give Jeffrey one less thing to worry about so that, when he is able, he can focus entirely on healing, rebuilding his strength, and getting back on his feet.
