Hi, my name is Holly and I'm fundraising for my son Jeffrey. Jeffrey is a happy, friendly, outgoing little boy. He loves being outside on the farm and playing with his little sister.
Having monitored and tracked Jeffrey's language acquisition it was evident he was not making the expected progress at school because he could not hear normal classroom sounds clearly and was unable to distinguish phonemes correctly. In March 2024, Jeffrey was diagnosed with severe glue ear in both ears. The Consultant recommended the removal of both tonsils and adenoids, and the fitting of grommets. The money was raised for Jeffrey to have the operation privately in June 2024 as the NHS waiting list was over a year. The operation was a success and Jeffrey's hearing began to improve.
Unfortunately, over the past few months Jeffrey's hearing has deteriorated which is again affecting his hearing and his love of learning. The Consultant has recommended that new grommets are fitted. We are fundraising to raise the £3,000 for the operation and the necessary appointments before and after, as the wait time to have the operation on the NHS is over a year. Jeffrey is in Year 3 now and is desperate to learn, but it missing out on so much in class because of his poor hearing.
Please support us if you can - every little bit helps us get closer to our target and the operation he needs. Thank you so so much!
