Help Jeffrey Get Urgent Medical Care

Hi everyone, this is our oldest son Jeffrey. I am Sarah, his mom & Jay is his dad. Jeffrey is 14 years old & we are extremely heart broken and at a loss of words so I am going to explain this in the best way I can...We are asking for help to fund our son. We are needing $5,000. to help him get the medical assistance that he needs. He has been recently diagnosed with EBV (Epstein Barr Virus). There is no treatment for it and is linked to many health conditions, some of them result in Cancer. Currently he has many of the symptoms, including a 4 1/2 inch spot on his liver & bumps behind both ears and a bump on his groin. He’s developed a heart condition and as of right now we are currently waiting to see a Pediatric Cardiologist in Albuquerque. He also has an appointment in October to see a GI doctor for his liver. I am going to continue to get referred out to many doctors, because we don’t have the doctors nor the treatment he needs close by.

Our Pediatric doctor who has been working extremely hard to help me and my family suggested it would best for us to go seek help from the Pediatric Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. They have the diagnostic specialist team that he desperately is needing, but our insurance is not accepted. They told me that they would get Jeffrey in before the end of September if we can give them a deposit of $5,000 , that they will use for his treatments and etc.

I have been on the phone none stop with doctors all over, including the Mayo Clinic. I will be in touch with St. Jude’s in Denver in the upcoming days. But if Jeffrey can get the medical team he needs now, we can get a jump on treating his conditions all at the same time. EBV will cause him to have liver failure as well as other organ failure / damage. We are very concerned about Jeffrey’s recent testing he has had done. His blood counts have not been good. We have been praying everyday for him and for guidance and encouragement. As a parent you will go to the ends of the earth for your children. We’ve got 3 other kids at home as well and We both work full time jobs currently. My job has been very understanding and letting me take the time when I need to take care of my family. But no matter what funds are always difficult to come across. Jeffrey is an outstanding kid and he is the most big hearted kid you’ll ever meet. He is starting high school this year and he loves to help anybody in need when he can. He is a extremely respectful young man. If you can help him in anyway possible we’d greatly appreciate it more than you know. We will be posting an update on Jeffrey’s condition as much as we possibly can and as often as we can.
