Help Jeffrey and SaVonne Rebuild After Fire
Donation protected
On Wednesday, tragedy struck when a devastating fire tore through SaVonne and Jeffrey's home in Newark, New Jersey. The fire, which started in a third-floor apartment, quickly spread, but was not fatal as Jeffrey was able get their two year old out of the home and alert the other families. Although the third floor bore the brunt of the flames, Jeffrey and SaVonne’s apartment suffered extensive damage due to the massive amounts of water used to extinguish the fire.
Today, the home is completely uninhabitable. Most of their belongings were either destroyed or are beyond recovery. While Jeffrey and SaVonne are deeply grateful, understanding that material things can be replaced ,the road ahead is overwhelming.
Relocating in New Jersey is not easy, especially under such sudden and heartbreaking circumstances. Average rent prices range from $2,500 to $3,000 a month, and the upfront costs to secure a new home can reach upwards of $10,000 when factoring in deposits and signing fees. In addition to needing a safe place to live, they also need to replace basic necessities like furniture, clothing, and everyday essentials.
We are asking for any help you can give to help Jeffrey and SaVonne get back on their feet. Whether it’s a financial donation toward their relocation, purchasing a meal through their MealTrain, or simply sharing this campaign, every act of kindness makes a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Jeffrey and SaVonne during this incredibly difficult time.
