Our dear friend and very longtime member of LCC Detroit, Jeff White (aka Aquajeffie) has run into some serious financial trouble. His 14 year old Ford Escape did not pass the inspection required by LYFT and he has been prevented from driving for them for several weeks. Unfortunately, this was his primary source of income. He has received an estimate of $2500 to complete repairs needed to make his Ford pass LYFT's inspection so that he can drive again. This email is a request to show some holiday spirit and "Thanks" by "Giving" to a kind-hearted soul.

I am going to match any monies donated/raised to help Jeff dollar-for-dollar up to the first $1500. So, if his friends and fellow club members contribute $1500, he will receive $3000 to go towards his expenses. He has other financial needs too, such as a roof replacement for his home of 4+ decades and an outstanding repair bill for his Mustang. Also, Jeff had to put down one of his many beloved rescued cats yesterday (and one of it's siblings two weeks ago) and the vet bills/cremation expenses are significant.

Jeff does not know I am doing this and did not receive this email. Unless you have a car to loan him temporarily until he can get his repaired and return to working, I prefer we not contact him directly so he can be surprised at or before the Detroit Holiday party.

I do not know how to start a GO FUND ME page and wish to ask if anyone in the club can do this, or if the Chapter Treasurer is willing to provide a mailing address or account information where monies can be remitted electronically (zelle, cashapp, paypal, venmo) it would be much appreciated. Could the officers please set up the donation method and cut-off date? Thank you for considering helping out our dear friend, and Happy Holidays to all!
