Jeff McCallister - Help Through Stroke Recovery

Donation protected

UPDATE DEC. 17: Jeff is doing a little better and is working hard in rehab. His left side is still paralyzed, but he is regaining some movement. His speech is much improved and he sounds like his old self most of the time - definitely well enough to give just about everyone a hard time! His memory is still concerning. He recognizes everyone and is able to talk and visit, but he often gets his place in time confused. While you're talking to him, he may be talking right along then think it is 10 years ago. He has upcoming appointments with neurology to see if this is something that may be permanent or if it can be treated with therapy or medication. If you can continue to help, please do! If you can't, pleas pass this on to everyone who knows Jeff. Every little bit helps. Thank you!

UPDATE OCT. 24: Still in a holding pattern during what looks like is going to be a long recovery. Jeff's speech is much improved and he sounds almost like his old self. In terms of left side movement, he is still paralyzed on one side and still waiting for the swelling to go down enough to replaces his skull piece. We were hoping that would happen this week, but it looks like it might not. Please keep sharing his GoFundMe so people can see the updates on his recovery and donate if they can.

Jeff McCallister recently suffered an unexpected, severe stroke and is facing at least several months of recovery. It has paralyzed his left side and he is not yet able to swallow on his own and depends on a feeding tube. If you know Jeff, you know he is going to be pushing to get back on his feet and home as soon as possible. Help us make sure he still has home to go to!

UPDATE OCT. 18: Jeff is maintaining a slow and steady recovery! He is able to eat soft foods and has been working on physical rehab, but it is just a slow process. When I talked to one of his nurses, they called Jeff their "Miracle Man." He still has a long way to go, but his progress has been steady. Please help support his recovery by donating or sharing his fundraiser. Thank you!

UPDATE OCT. 9: Jeff is setting into his new location and starting to gradually improve. His speech is making progress and they are beginning to work on motor skills. Because he had recently changed jobs, he does not have sick leave and it may be some time before he will be able to think about going back to work. Please help us keep helping him and donate or share this fundraiser. Thank yoU!

UPDATE OCT. 5: Jeff is stable and improving enough that he is being moved to a rehabilitation-focused facility in Gainesville. He is doing great and ready to begin re-learning speech, swallowing and movement on that left side. Hopefully, Jeff will be back to babying his Jeep and motorcycle and working too much in a few months!

Financially, we still need help keeping up with monthly bills and, eventually, the co-pays and medical bills that will be left when he goes home. We appreciate any little bit of help you can give. If you can't give, please share, so that others can see the fundraiser. You can also send me a message through GoFundMe if you have any questions. Thank you all!

SEPT. 30: If you know Jeff, you know he's an amazing guy!  He's honest, hard working and kind-hearted.  He goes out of his way for his friends and family. Now it's time for us to help him! While Jeff is recovering, the least we all can do is help him with his medical bills and home expenses.  We don't know how much his hospital stay or upcoming rehab will cost.  All we can do is support him financially and emotionally at this time.  Please take the time to donate what you can and keep Jeff in your prayers. Thank you.
