Help Jeff & Shari rebuild after Hurricane Helene devastation
Donation protected
My name is Jessie Fultz. On September 27, my cousin Jeff Christofferson lost his home in the Tropical Storm Helene flooding that completely devastated us here in Western North Carolina. My aunt and his mom, Shari Vera Cruz, also lived in his house. They have lost everything.
This was Jeff’s first home and they had only lived there for about 8 weeks. My aunt’s car was also flooded. Thankfully, Jeff’s car was parked at my other aunt’s home and is ok. Shari and Jeff were out of town when the storm hit and thankfully are ok, but as a result, they weren’t able to get home for 3 days after the storm and therefore couldn’t begin work to save anything, causing everything to be a total loss.
During the flooding, there was a friend there housesitting and cat sitting for them. She escaped but had to walk through water up to her neck while holding the cat carrier above her head in order to get to safety.
Jeff likely won’t be able to work for a while given the nature of his job, and Shari needs to work but has no transportation currently.
They need help while they’re working on rebuilding their lives and that is why I’m setting this up for them. Hoping they will receive some donations to get them back on their feet. These donations will assist them with buying food, gas, clothing, and any other necessities they will be needing during this time of crisis.
Thank you!
