Help Jeff & Rose With Medical Expenses

I’ve been reluctant to do this, but as I find myself getting sicker and sicker I realize that whatever foolish pride I have, I don’t want to pride myself to death.
Some background -- Jeff has beat all odds in surviving two heart attacks and nearly a week of intubation after complications from triple bypass surgery almost 6 years ago. In that time I’ve become sicker with things like diabetes, kidney failure, and a vulnerability to heart disease based upon very high cholesterol and triglycerides. These conditions have sapped me of energy and also have made walking at times very difficult due to severe neuropathy. I’m still needed to be Jeff’s main caretaker, but I struggle more with that role because of my own illnesses. My battle with coronavirus last year has also left me considerably more vulnerable from its long-term effects.
As some of you know, I have no health insurance. I haven’t been insured in 13 years now. I rely on a free clinic, which assists me in things like medications, but I still have to pay something. I’m also unable to get any help with dental work – the clinic used to allow me one dentist visit per year but has stopped that service (the clinic came upon hard times post-Covid in terms of its functionality. Among other things, the health field is not attracting volunteers anymore which is necessary for the clinic to provide services.) Due to the lack of dental care eating has become very difficult for me and I’m often in a great deal of pain. Fortunately, Jeff has a Medicare supplement but we still are hit with high co-pays for him and as most of you know, Medicare doesn’t cover any dental care for him either.
I’m asking people to help with whatever they can. Even if it’s just a few dollars, it will make a difference in terms of allowing us the freedom to do things like go to the dentist and pursue some alternative healthcare avenues like acupuncture. I’m currently seeking at-home work but because of the need to take care of Jeff and my own serious physical limitations, work that requires me to leave the home isn’t something I can handle at this time. I struggle to stand for more than 5 minute intervals and Jeff doesn’t have the mobility to be able to perform simple functions for himself; he works hard at writing and mentoring younger activists on political organizing, but few people besides me understand how hard it is for him to get around and he needs me here to assist him. The stimulus money will only go to Jeff, not me, and it will only allow us to pay off some debt which is one of the reasons I need to do this fundraiser.
Please share and give what you can. Thank you so much.
