On June 5th, Jeff Martinez received some unexpected news. It started after working a long 12 hour night shift in the Emergency Room. Throughout the night, we (his co-workers) had noticed something was off. He was pale, sluggish and, at times, forgetful. At 7:30 am, after a grueling night, instead of going home to rest, Jeff agreed to go back into the ER and get seen. It was then that we realized this was not just a simple virus. Jeff was told the devastating news that he had a brain tumor. More specifically, a Meningioma. It was so large that it was causing a shift in his brain (see picture). He was immediately admitted into the Intensive Care Unit, where he remains today. He has to undergo an immediate open craniotomy surgery, where recovery will be long and difficult. Fortunately, he does has medical insurance, but Jeff lives alone and is solely responsible for his bills. He has no PTO to help with income, so this will be a huge hit to his life. I started this to help ease any stress that finances may cause. If there are any reservations with regards to using gofundme, his personal venmo is @Acecrx. I am 100% available for questions so feel free to contact me 24/7. If you're unable to give, please leave him a well wish, and I'll make sure he gets them.
Jeff is a selfless person who ALWAYS comes through for others! He has volunteered with the Rose Parade every single year, for the past 10 years, and was on the front lines, working tirelessly throughout the Covid pandemic. Let's show Jeff how much we love him!
