Help Jeff & Randa Move After 23 Years in Fontana

After 23 years in our beloved Fontana home, we are being forced to move. Our house was sold out from under us, and we must vacate by November 30, 2025. This would be overwhelming for anyone — but in our situation, it feels nearly impossible.

About Randa

I am a lifelong Fontana native, with roots here going back five generations. My parents were married at the Fontana Episcopal Church, where I and my three younger sisters were baptized.

I’ve spent my life pouring into this community:

• First Program Director for Fontana’s local cable station KFON

• Teacher of Video Production and Animation at Fontana High School

• Teacher of computer classes at the Fontana Senior Community Center

• Contributing reporter and photographer for the Fontana Herald News

• Musician, singer, composer, and band leader for 50 years

• Performed across 4/5 of the U.S., in Canada, Mexico, Europe, and even the Balkans on a USO/DOD tour entertaining U.S. and United Nations troops (with 51 nations represented)

• Member of the Fontana Community Church, where I have shared my love of music and service

I’m also a two-time cancer survivor, now fighting cancer for the third time. On top of that, I live with erythromelalgia (EM), a chronic illness that severely impairs my ability to walk. These days I am mostly bedbound, but my passion for community, music, and storytelling has never dimmed.

About Jeff

Jeff has shared a lifetime of music as well:

• Performing musician, singer, band leader, and arranger

• Teacher of over a dozen instruments

• Since COVID, he has continued teaching online via Zoom, sharing music across the world

At over 70 years old, Jeff can no longer do heavy lifting.

The Challenge

The costs of movers, packing supplies, deposits for a new place, and temporary storage/housing are far more than we can handle.

• Just one quote from Bekins Moving & Storage came in at a minimum $7,500 — and that’s only the movers.

• Temporary storage for our belongings may add another $500 - $750.

• Short-term housing while we wait to move into a permanent place could run another $3,000–$5,000.

• With deposits, boxes, and other unexpended expenses, the total might climb to $25,000.
