Help Jeff Overcome His Brain Tumor Battle

Dearest Friends and Family,
My heart aches to share the story of my beloved husband, Jeff. For over a decade, Jeff has been my rock, my inspiration, and the embodiment of strength and faith. He's a man who has dedicated his life to uplifting others, a beacon of hope through his work as a coach, trainer, and advocate for holistic health. His passion for life, his dedication to fitness, and his commitment to healthy living, even overcoming significant health challenges through intermittent fasting and lifestyle changes, has always been a testament to his resilience.
But life has thrown us an unexpected and frightening curveball. On February 26th, dehydration quickly led to excessive water consumption, violent vomiting, plummeting his sodium levels to stroke level, and ultimately, a terrifying day in the ER.
A CT scan revealed a mass, a shadow lurking near his right ear. Jeff was admitted to the hospital for an arduous 5 days. The waiting, the uncertainty, the barrage of tests – it's been a trial of faith. The nuclear bone scan and colonoscopy results brought a sigh of relief, clearing him of other potential tumors, a small miracle amidst the storm.
However, a brain MRI confirmed our fears: a 2-inch tumor, a vestibular schwannoma, pressing against his brainstem in an area that controls the body's essential automatic life functions, like breathing and heartbeat. The neurologists tell us it is likely benign, but the words "brain tumor" still echoes in our ears, a chilling reminder of the fragility of life.
Now, we face an all day craniotomy surgery, more days in the hospital, many more tests, and navigating a potentially long in-home recovery care.
To compound our worries, I've just started a new job, leaving us without immediate insurance coverage and medical bills have begun to pour in.
Throughout our marriage, we've faced financial hardships, but God has always provided. This time, however, the burden feels enormous and beyond our ability to overcome alone. We are reaching out to you, our cherished friends and family, with humble hearts and a sincere request for help. We know times are tough for everyone, but any contribution, no matter how small, will make a world of difference.
We believe in the power of prayer, the strength of community, and the unwavering grace of God. Please, join us in this fight. Help us give Jeff the chance to heal without worry, to continue his mission of inspiring others, and to return to the life he loves.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Angie Byrd
