Hi, my name is Elizabeth Little, and I’m fundraising on behalf of someone incredibly special to me and My Father who has been a long time friend of this person. —Jeff Myers.
Six months ago, Jeff was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Since then, his life has been turned upside down. He has been undergoing chemotherapy while also managing diabetes, all while trying to stay strong for his family and the people who love him.
Recently, Jeff was accepted into a research-based cancer treatment program at Emory, an opportunity that could be life-changing. This program isn’t just about helping Jeff; it’s part of an advanced study aimed at improving future cancer treatments so others won’t have to endure what he is going through now. This opportunity is incredibly meaningful to him, and he wants people to know that even in the middle of his fight, he is thinking about how his journey might help others in the future.
Jeff was referred to Emory by his doctors at Lowcountry Cancer. Unfortunately, his primary doctor retired just days ago, leaving him in a difficult transition period, but Emory is ready to take him now. His first appointment is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14th, and if the funds needed are not raised in time, he may be forced to defer this critical opportunity.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Jeff is currently living on disability pay. While he does have insurance, it does not cover the treatments at Emory, and it also does not cover his insulin, which is essential for managing his diabetes.
Insulin costs range from $175–$300+ per vial
Many patients require 2–3 vials per month
Monthly insulin costs alone can exceed $800
Additional expenses include medical bills, travel, and lodging related to treatment
Every dollar raised will go directly to Jeff to help cover these overwhelming costs.
Who Jeff Is
Before cancer, Jeff spent 25 years in the restaurant industry, living his life with one simple goal: to spread smiles and joy in every interaction. He has always given back to his community whenever and however he could, never expecting anything in return.
Jeff loves cruising with his wife, something he’s always looked forward to each year. Even while undergoing treatment, he was recently able to take a cruise with his family thanks to special accommodations, a moment of joy during a very hard season. He’s also a die-hard football fan, proudly cheering for the Miami Dolphins and the Georgia Bulldogs.
I met Jeff through my father’s business, though in truth, I had known him since I was a child, back when he and my father worked together. When Jeff began working again with my father years later, our connection grew into something much deeper. Over time, he became far more than a coworker to me. He became a friend, a mentor, and honestly, like the uncle or older brother I never had. Jeff is kind, loyal, and honest to his core, with a rare ability to connect with anyone he meets.
A Message from Jeff
Jeff wants people to know that he is doing everything he can to stay positive, even after waking up one morning and being told he has an incurable disease. One of the hardest parts of this journey for him has been watching the people closest to him suffer alongside him. He is deeply grateful for every form of support, whether it’s financial, emotional, or simply keeping him in your thoughts and Prayers.
This fundraiser isn’t just about money, it’s about community, hope, and making sure Jeff has the chance to keep fighting and contributing to something bigger than himself.
Our Goal
Our goal is to raise $8,000 to help Jeff attend his upcoming appointment at Emory and ease the financial burden of treatment, travel, and essential medications.
If you’re able to donate, share, or send a message of encouragement, it would mean more than words can express. Thank you for riding this journey with Jeff and for being part of his fight.
With gratitude,
Elizabeth Little
