Support Jeff Loomis' Fight Against Parkinson's
Donation protected
Quick Update (Dec. 20, 2024): We have an anonymous donor who would like to match, dollar for dollar, any gift up to the end of 2024, up to a cumulative total of $2,500; any gift you make before Jan. 1 2025 will be 100% matched! We could possibly hit $22,500 with this match.
Please Note: This fundraiser is to directly help Jeff & Deanna Loomis with their medical expenses, and is unrelated to their own personal fundraising for the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Jeff Loomis, 60, was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2020. In early 2023, Jeff had Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery, an invasive surgery where his skull was opened, while awake, and neurons were connected to his brain in the hopes of being able to control his shaking with electrical pulsations. The surgery was only partly successful. Consequently, Jeff needed to retire from his job as a Quality Auditor at NSK in Ann Arbor. Jeff is now on full-time disability and is attempting a second DBS surgery to correct his right side from shaking. However, he must also have neck surgery before this second DBS surgery. He is self-insured and the cost of surgery, medication and MRIs are extremely high. Jeff and his wife, Deanna, have raised over $38,000 for the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation, all of which has gone to research. They have not benefitted financially from these fundraisers, but have selflessly raised money for the cause. After much prayer and consideration, they have reluctantly but gratefully agreed to accept financial help for medical bills, many of which will come due in 2025. All gifts will be directly dedicated to medical bills.
