Jeff Carter Our Friend:

We are Jeff Cartee’s friends and loved ones, he is enduring a very difficult journey and through all of it he has inspired us. We have known Jeff for over 35 years, back when we were just clueless knuckleheads and had no idea what lay ahead. Life has taken a dramatic change, and we want to help him enjoy and live the most fulfilling life he can, the life he has left, to be as safe, healthy as possible and enjoy freedom and some new experiences.

To be completely transparent We the team and Ed Burke are managing / collecting the funds to purchase the RV for Jeff on his behalf. 

Health and Sickness:

In 2015 nearing his 50th birthday, Jeff received a 5-year terminal prognosis of stage 4 Melanoma, one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. As an Independent businessman he was unable to afford health insurance and so Jeff let a suspicious mole go unchecked and it resulted in the very challenging life he is now living.

It was shocking and devastating news for all of us!

The Fight:

Jeff has fought and persevered, and over 5 years later he is still fighting an uphill battle of chemo, radiation, surgeries, and personal life struggles, but he is surviving and even more when he can.

There have been good days and bad. The cancer and treatments have devastated him both physically, emotionally and mentally… unfortunately there have been more bad than good. (The pictures above and below show both)

Needless to say, the cancer has also devastated his ability to work and his finances. During this Jeff has done his best to provide for his family and be good father, but even with best efforts his marriage has come to an end.

Jeff has faced many long days and nights, debilitating treatments and sicknesses, navigating the maze of modern health care system.

The cancer has eaten at his bones requiring hip surgeries, and more than once reduced him to less than 115lbs.

We often wondered when the end was coming…

Life and Hope!

Through all this Jeff has stayed positive, more than any of us could possibly believe.

On top of that, he uses his diagnoses to bring awareness to the importance of routine checkups to his loved ones around him; It gives him purpose and has motivated others to not make the same mistake he did. Jeff has never traveled or taken a vacation during all this.

Jeff’s dream is to be safe, free and experience life and spread information and hope when and where he can.

The Plan.. On The Road to a Better life!

What we are looking to do is to raise $25,000 as soon as possible, to buy a used but stable RV to be his home.

The RV would give him a safe reliable place to live, avoid being homeless and give him the ability to travel, freedom, relaxation

Any funds leftover would be used as  getting started money so that Jeff has the opportunity to experience some well-deserved Travel and Life!
