Jeff is currently suffering the life-altering effects of an ischemic stroke, struggling each day with speech, balance, and basic independence—abilities that were once second nature.
He is asking for help as he faces a long and exhausting medical journey that has taken away his ability to work, communicate easily, and live independently.
In 2021, Jeff underwent a knee replacement that led to a serious blood clot, marking the beginning of a cascade of health complications. In 2023, he required septoplasty surgery to correct breathing issues and reduce strain on his heart. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with a life-threatening heart defect that required open-heart surgery to repair his mitral valve. These procedures were delayed for months after he contracted COVID-19, prolonging both the risk and recovery.
Despite these challenges, Jeff continued to push forward.
In 2025, his condition took a devastating turn when he suffered an ischemic stroke affecting the left side of his brain. Since then, daily life has become a constant struggle. He now lives with aphasia, making it difficult to speak, read, and write. Persistent dizziness and vertigo prevent him from working, traveling, or functioning normally day to day.
Further neurological testing has revealed significant dysfunction affecting his balance and brain processing, with involvement of the cerebellum, brainstem, and visual systems. His vision has been disrupted, and he now requires specialized care to better understand and treat the damage.
Before these medical setbacks, Jeff was a dedicated professional—self-employed in Vehicle Dynamics Instruction, working with military special forces, law enforcement, teen drivers, and high-performance track clients. He also served as a volunteer augmentee with the California State Military in a Security Forces role. Today, he is on indefinite leave, unable to return to the work he once excelled at.
He fought to remain employed as long as possible, but his condition has made it impossible. Even more difficult, his application for Social Security Disability benefits was denied, leaving him without stable income at a time when he needs it most.
Jeff now faces multiple medical appointments each week, ongoing therapies, and rising out-of-pocket costs. Though he has some insurance, it is not enough to cover the growing burden. His savings have been exhausted. The physical toll is matched by emotional strain—frustration, uncertainty, and the weight of trying to rebuild a life that has been abruptly changed. He now urgently needs access to specialists to guide the next phase of treatment and recovery.
He is determined to heal and regain as much independence as possible—but he cannot do it alone.
Your support will help Jeff continue essential treatments, access critical specialized care, and get through each day as he fights to recover.
