MOST RECENT UPDATE....DECEMBER

After Jeff's passing, Iwas left with all of the back bills and debt trying to catchup.

Jeff has plans for me to return to the family store after I recovered from my hysterectomy but that plan fell through. December rent fell through as well. My oldest son worked at the family store and was laid off for no reason which was our only source of income until I find a job.

I've sent my resume out absolutely everywhere and we are doing our best but we are just trying to survive at this point.

We've exceeded all resources and are trying to stay positive but it just keeps getting worse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff & Angel's Story...We Need Your Help

Jeff is currently at John Hopkins and had 2 brain surgeries and not responding. But that's not even the beginning of the story.

In September, Jeff crushed his arm on a piece of heavy equipment working at True Value. We went to Calvert ER and rushed into emergency surgery after being diagnosed with compartment syndrome. His arm was crushed so bad, they cut two 14in incisions to leave open to relieve pressure. A few days they closed up his arm. He was discharged and sent home.

A week later Angel had her own medical struggles that resulted in a surgery which left her unable to work. She came home to recover as well.

The following week, Jeff's arm got infected which led him back at Calvert and under another procedure and another long stay in thr hospital.

Here's where things changed while bills are piling up...

Nov 1st Jeff puked and said he had a headache. He went to lay down and slept more than usual. Unsure of what was going on, over the counter headache meds were given but he was sleeping too much and on Nov 6th 911 was called. He tested positive for Fungal Meningitis and was admitted to Calvert. Over the course of his stay, fluid and pressure built in his spine and brain so he was flown to John Hopkins. They rushed him into a lumbar drain to release the pressure by draining the fluid. 12 hours later he stopped breathing. CT showed his brain fluid was being blocked and not draining down to the lumbar drain. They rushed him into brain surgery where a draining tube was inserted into the brain. He woke up from surgery long enough to see Angel. He attempted to kiss her regardless of the tube down this throat. A few hours later he wasn't responding and stopped breathing again. He was rushed back to CT. The image showed another pocket of infection and would need another surgery for another tube. He woke up from the 2nd surgery long enough to open his eyes and then became unresponsive.

Jeff is the breadwinner and Angel still has her own health battles. They are raising 3 kids and bills have piled up. Costs of hospital stays and traveling have emptied out bank accounts.

Jeff is a kind man. He would help anyone with anything especially when it came to True Value. Angel is trying to balance life and is in shock. The cost of everything has her in a great deal of stress.

There's never a good time to go through these situations but holidays make it worse. How does Angel tell her kids "I dont know if we're gonna have a Christmas this year". How does she decide to buy groceries or put gas in the car? How can she go see Jeff when there's gas, parking expenses, eating out, etc?

Times are tough for a lot of people but this family is struggling a great deal.

Please help share within communities, churches, families and friends.

Please please help and say a lot of prayers.

Thank you
