Help Jeff and Shasta Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

These pictures show my friends and neighbors Jeff and Shasta in Asheville, North Carolina. A huge tree was blown onto their garage apartment and they were trapped early on the morning of the storm. Jerry, our neighbor Sam and I rescued them from their second story window at 4 am as the storm raged. Unbelievably, they are fine! Unfortunately, the house and its contents are a total loss as well as the new trailer that Jeff is still making payments on. He lost the trailer, all his tools (he is self-employed), clothes and personal belongings. I am sorry to say that some of his outdoor equipment was looted the days after the storm when he was displaced. He has applied to FEMA but that process is slower then we would wish and will not allow him to buy new tools to begin working again. I am asking you to help Jeff get back on his feet. I know many folks have donated their time and money to organizations, but this is an opportunity to help a neighbor right now! Thank you!
