Helping Jeezy Breathe Easy: Surgery for Stenotic Nares
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out today to ask for a little help for the newest member of my family, my 2-month-old Shih Tzu, Jeezy.
Recently, Jeezy was diagnosed with Stenotic Nares. For those who aren't familiar, this is a condition common in brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds where the nostrils are abnormally narrow or pinched. Essentially, it’s like trying to breathe through a pinched straw all day long.
Why Jeezy Needs Surgery
Because his airway is restricted, Jeezy has to work much harder than a normal puppy just to get oxygen. This causes snoring, snorting, and most importantly, it puts a significant strain on his little heart and lungs over time.
To give him the best quality of life and prevent long-term health complications, Jeezy needs a corrective procedure to widen his nostrils. This surgery will allow him to breathe freely, play without getting exhausted, and grow up into the happy, healthy dog he’s meant to be.
The Goal
The cost for this procedure is estimated between $600 and $700. As a new puppy owner, this is an unexpected hurdle, but I want to do right by Jeezy and get this fixed while he is still young.
Any contribution—no matter how small—will go directly toward his surgery and post-operative care. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this link with your friends and family would mean the world to us.
Jeezy is such a sweet, energetic boy, and I can’t wait for him to finally be able to take a deep, easy breath. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
