Hi, my name is Tom, i started this fund raiser to try and help a friend who really needs some help to avoid an unfair and unbearable situation. I met Jeevitha whilst working together and got to know her and her story. Jeevitha and her family took on a £40000 loan in India to pay for her to attend University in England, and the interest rate is extortionate, she has to pay £700 per month for 15 years to repay it and any missed payment could result in large charges or the interest rate being raised further. Jeevitha has worked really hard and is currently working as an Opthalmic Imaging Technician in the NHS, she would be on the way to a successful career and the ability to pay this debt if not for the changes in the visa rules since she invested all that money in a British education. Now time is running out for Jeevitha, she is under huge pressure, her family cannot afford to pay these loan payments and if she has to return to India she will lose all hope for her career, her independence as a woman, and her grand parents will lose their house. It will likely ruin Jeevitha's life and devastate her family. I am trying to raise this money so that Jeevitha can enroll in University for a 1 year course that would give her the extra qualification to get a sponsored job in the field of Opthamology and to try and cover some of the loan payments that are so crippling. It would be so cruel if Jeevitha had to lose everything after trusting and investing in this country's institutions, she is here working hard, paying tax, she really needs and deserves some help. I really hope that enough people will chip in and save Jeevitha from this horrible situation, i worry a lot for how she and her family will survive if they dont.
