विरामी वाग्लेको सहयोगको लागि नेपाल अमेरिका पत्रकार संघ (नेजा) को हार्दिक अपिल

नेपाल अमेरिका पत्रकार संघ (नेजा) का आजिवन सदस्य जिवन्त वाग्ले गम्भिर विरामी परेर अस्पतालको शै्ययामा उपचाररत हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँ ‘ब्रेन टुयूमर’कोे समस्याबाट ग्रस्त विरामी हो । क्यालिफोर्नियाको सान् फ्रान्सिस्कोस्थित वालनट क्रिकको जोन म्यूअर अस्पतालमा जुलाई ७ मा अपरेशन गरेपछी अहिलेसम्म सोही अस्पतालमै हुनुहुन्छ । उहाँको स्वर गुमेको छ भने होश पनि पुरै नफिरेको तथा खानासमेत मुखबाट नसकेपछी पेटमा पाईपको माध्यमद्वारा झोलिलो खानामात्र दिनु परेको अवस्थामा हुनुहुन्छ ।

उहाँलाई कति समयसम्म अस्पताल राख्नुपर्ने र पूर्ण स्वस्थ हुन सक्ने नसक्ने बारे चिकित्सकले केही भन्न नसकिने बताएका छन् । र, लामो समय उपचार गर्नुपर्ने भएको छ ।

वाग्लेसँग श्रीमती र एक छोरा हुनुहुन्छ । वाग्लेले एक वर्ष पहिल्यैेदेखि पनि अस्वस्थताकै कारण कुनै काम गर्नु भएको थिएन । दिउँसो पनि वाग्लेलाई रेखदख गर्नुपर्ने अवस्था थियो । राती श्रीमान् र छोरा सुतेको अवस्थामा केही घण्टा काम गरेर श्रीमतीले मुश्किलले घर चलाउँदै आएको बताउनुहुन्छ । अब झन् वाग्लेको उपचारमा उहाँकी जीवनसँगिनी साथमै रहनुपर्ने र १० वर्षिय छोराको समेत हेरचाह गर्नुपर्ने भएकाले परिवारका कुनै सदस्यले काम गर्न नसक्दा आर्थिक अवस्था कमजोर बनेको छ । एकातिर पैसाको संकट छ भने अर्कोतिर आर्थिक भारले गर्दा विरामीले जुन आत्मबलसहित रोगको सामना गर्नुपर्ने हो त्यो झन् कठिन भइरहेको छ ।

यो गम्भीर स्वास्थ्य समस्याग्रस्त ले वाग्लेको परिवारलाई तपाईं, हाम्रो सहयोगले उहाँको जीवनमा नयाँ आशा र उत्साह दिन सक्छ ।

कृपया, वाग्लेको उपचारलाई सफल बनाई उहाँ र उहाँको परिवारमा नयाँ जिवन ल्याउनका लागि नेजाले सुरू गरेको आपतकालीन आर्थिक सहयोग ‘गो फण्ड’ अभियानमा सहयोगको लागि हार्दिक अपील गर्दछ । हाँहरूको सहयोगका लागि हार्दिक धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्दै वाग्लेको शीघ्र स्वास्थ्य लाभको हार्दिक कामना गर्दछौं ।

An Appeal of NEJA in support of Journalist Wagle

Jeevant Wagle, a life time member of the Nepal America Journalists’ Association (NEJA), and human rights advocate who is also a life time member of the Nepal America Journalists’ Association (NEJA), has been seriously ill due to brain tumor and currently undergoing in treatment at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek sunce three weeks. Doctors have completed his surgery but Mr Wagle has not been fully recovered yet. As per family sources, he has not got his voice fully back and not been able to sallow the food through the mouth, moreover, it’s not known how long the recovery takes place.

Mr. Wagle has a wife and a son who is just 10 years old. In fact, he was not working over past years due to his illness and fully dependent. As he needs more time to gain recovery his wife has not been able to work as she needs to take care him and son. For over a year, he had been unable to work due to his illness. Mr. Wagle requiring his wife’s full-time care during treatment and with their 10‑year‑old son also needing attention, family member can not work. As a result, the family’s financial situation has become very weak.

On the one hand, there is a severe lack of money; on the other hand, the heavy financial burden has made it even harder for the patient to fight the illness with the strength and determination needed.

In this time of serious health crisis, your support, even a small contribution, can bring new hope and encouragement to Mr. Wagle and his family. If this situation goes more than a months, she will have no money left to pay the rent of her apartment.

Therefore, NEJA would sincerely appeal to all of you support the emergency GoFundMe campaign launched by NEJA for Mr. Wagle’s treatment, so that he and his family may be given a chance at a new life.
