Help Jedidiah Overcome Neurological Challenges
Donation protected
We are raising money to help cover therapy expenses that insurance will not cover for 9-year-old Jedidiah Lewis (son of David & Emily).
Jed was diagnosed with a neurological injury as a young toddler along with developmental delay, severe speech delay, sensory issues, and behavioral issues. He is undergoing testing for a possible auditory neuropathy diagnosis.
Jed has also been diagnosed with PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome), which causes anxiety, irritability, tics, behavioral or developmental regression, deterioration in school performance, sensory abnormalities, sleep disturbances, and urinary frequency.
Jed has done many years of speech therapy and a few years of occupational therapy but has had little improvement with those therapies. His parents found a functional neurologist that does alternative therapies (photobiomodulation, aka laser therapy, brain stimulation, and other modalities), and Jed did therapy with him for a few months. Within 2 months, Jed had a huge improvement in his speech. He was also able to test and treat Jed for PANS when he had a massive flare-up 2 years ago.
Unfortunately, insurance covers pennies on the dollar of this therapy because it is alternative therapy, and David and Emily will be paying for most of this out of pocket. It is the only therapy that Jed has shown improvement with.
We are asking you to consider donating funds so Jed can do another chunk of therapy that will help improve his speech, any auditory issues he may have, and the current PANS flare he is dealing with.
Thank you.
