John Dusky Jr (Jed) and Frankie Dusky have faced an unimaginable loss over the past two days. A fire destroyed their garage, which housed not only their means of making a living but also irreplaceable vintage car parts and items passed down from our father, a passionate Studebaker enthusiast. The very next day, a second fire swept through, destroying the rest of the car parts and damaging their home, carport, and fence. Thankfully, Jed, Frankie, and their five dogs are safe, but they lost their water heater, washer, dryer, and the business that supported them.

Jed is my only brother, and both he and Frankie are deeply devoted to each other and to our family. They have both been dealing with health issues, yet Jed has always been the first to help others when he can. The loss of the vintage Studebaker parts is especially hard, as they were not only a source of income but also a connection to our late father and the community of collectors he loved. Jed also had a remarkable collection of Scientific American magazines dating back to the early 1900s, reflecting his love of history and learning.
