Back in the fall of 2019, when my husband Ralph passed away, I overlooked my property tax payment. Last summer, I received a notice from Contra Costa County that my home would be placed for auction if I did not pay the overdue 2019 taxes, plus penalties and interest. After exhaustive research, calls, and legal advice, I learned my only option was to pay one fifth of the amount due immediately, with another fifth plus interest due each year thereafter on April 10th. I managed to borrow enough for that first payment, which I just finished repaying, but now I have no way to cover the next installment.

I have most reluctantly found myself resorting to this 'unthinkable' method of GoFundMe as the last option available to me to keep my home. This is the only home I have, and I hope to be around awhile to continue enjoying it. Your support would mean the world to me and help me stay in the place I love.
