Jeanne's Journey

Donation protected
Hello my name is Rita and I'm doing this for my mother Jeanne Engel. Recently she was diagnosed with stage 4 of not only small cell lung cancer but another rare cancer. This horrendous news was told to us on 1/28/2025, which is also my birthday. I just pray that it's not the last one that I get to celebrate with my mom. Unfortunately, it's inoperable as well as terminal. It has spread to her blood, lymph nodes and now both sides of her lungs. She has just finished a month of radiation and has now started chemotherapy from now until July. My mother is a fighter and initially wanted to continue working. The treatments have drained her and she is in bed for days at a time. They have already taken a toll on her physically and mentally. Financially without having an income and the influx of doctors visits, treatments, CO-pays, and bills things are becoming overwhelming. This GoFundMe will be able to help my mom focus on rest and recovery, while easing the burden of financial hardship. She has been through a whirlwind of emotions in a short period of time.
Jeanne has worked at the same establishment for just under 17 years. She was the day bartender at Mcstew's Irish Pub. Being there was not only work to her, it's also her family. She has been the friendly face, a shoulder to lean on and an ear for listening to each and everyone that has walked through those doors. She would give the shirt off of her back, effort, and time to anyone who has needed it. My mother would put everyone and everything above herself. With prayer, hope, and treatments we are wishful that she will be able to grace us with more time. Now is the time that Jeanne needs us to pull together and help support her through this most awful endeavor.
Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. No donation is too small. Even if you are unable to donate to her cause, please share and re-share as much as possible. My mother has made many friendships and family throughout the years. Sharing her story means the world to me. Each and every bit of support, financial or emotional, makes a difference.

We will also be holding a benefit for Jeannie's Journey on Sunday April 13, 2025 at Mcstew's Irish Pub. There will be a 50/50, baskets, food and much more. Tickets will be on sale in the coming week. Please attend and come show Jeanne your support. Thank you very much for taking the time to get to know a little bit about my beautiful mother.
