Help Jeanne Beat Cancer

Jeanne Marie LaMotte (Our Songbird)
Anyone who knows Jeanne, knows that she is a bright light in this world. I've never known anyone who hasn't been blown away by her joyful spirit and kind loving heart. When you meet Jeanne, you know you're meeting someone truly special. She is the kind of beautiful that starts on the inside and shines all the way to the outside for everyone to see. We are all so blessed to have her in our lives and could not be more devastated at the thought of losing her. But that is the soul crushing reality we are currently facing...that our bright light, the love my father's life, is fighting for her life.

Her Diagnoses
Last year, Jeanne was diagnosed with colon cancer. While this news was beyond terrifying, they moved quickly. She had surgery to remove the portion of her colon that was affected. In one of those terrible twists of fate, during surgery they discovered that the cancer had spread to her liver. This meant that the fight was not over. It had only just begun.

Her Fight
We convinced Jeanne to fight it, and boy did she ever. We watched as she suffered through a harrowing 6 months of chemotherapy, dealing with the pain, the nausea, and the completely debilitating lack of energy. We watched as her face turned bright and painful red from the poison working hard to save her life. We watched as she underwent a second surgery at the conclusion of her chemo to remove half of her liver and countless other parts of her body battling against cancer. Through all of her suffering we had hope, hope that the pain would be worth it because Jeanne would survive and remain in our lives where she belongs.

What we didn't anticipate was that the chemo would not work. That the cancer would spread with abandon. But we still have hope. Hope that there are other ways to save her life.

What We Need
Jeanne is headed to Dallas to work with an oncologist who focuses on alternative treatments. This doctor has worked miracles for those with cases that seemed hopeless. But the painful reality is that these alternative treatments are not covered by insurance, and they are extremely expensive. We don't believe that you can put a dollar amount on a person's right to survive. Especially not a soul as special as our Jeanne. That is why we are asking you to help.

Jeanne will be undergoing treatments for $500/day for a minimum of 6 weeks. That means we need at least $21,000 for the chance to save her life. Unfortunately, that is $21,000 that we don't currently have. If treatment goes beyond that window, more money will be needed.

We understand that this is a difficult year for everyone, but anything you can spare to help would make all the difference.

We are worried, but we have hope.
