In 2007, Jeannette defied the odds and overcame a brain tumor. Her strength and determination were nothing short of miraculous. But today, she faces an even greater challenge — she is battling malignant lung cancer.

Jeannette is a divorced mother of four. She endured years in an abusive marriage, but never gave up — because her children needed her. They still do. She has always put them first, working tirelessly as a dedicated high school teacher to provide them with a better future.

When she was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, local treatment options in Cameroon were heartbreakingly limited. The healthcare infrastructure, especially for complex cancer cases, is deeply underdeveloped, leaving Jeannette with few options at home.

Thanks to the love and support of her mother and family, Jeannette was able to travel to Delhi, India, for urgent medical care. She spent five gruelling months at Metro Heart Institute with Multispeciality, undergoing chemotherapy regimen.

The costs of the trip, treatment, and accommodations in India were entirely covered by Jeannette’s mother and extended family. Every penny of savings was poured into her survival. Now, her resources have run out — but her journey to recovery is not over.

Jeannette still requires ongoing chemotherapy, medical monitoring, and comprehensive recovery care in Cameroon to ensure the cancer is treated. Without it, the gains made over the past few months could be lost.
