Hi, my name is Jeanine, and I’m a mother of four boys — 25, 24, 22, and 11. In March, I lost my 22-year-old son, Kerry, and life has not been the same since. Kerry was full of light, love, and potential. Losing him so suddenly has shattered my heart in ways I can’t even explain.
I’ve tried to stay strong, especially for my youngest son, but grief has taken a real toll on my mental health. I attempted to return to work, but I just wasn’t okay — and eventually, I lost my job. Since then, I’ve lost my car and fallen behind on bills, and things have been really difficult.
I’m asking for help not just to stay afloat, but to breathe again. This support would help me with rent, groceries, transportation, and getting the grief counseling I know I need. I’ve always been someone who pushes through, but this pain is unlike anything I’ve ever known.
If you’re able to give — even a little — or share this with someone who might be able to, I would be so deeply grateful. I just want a chance to heal, take care of my family, and rebuild my life in honor of my son.
Thank you so much for reading this. And thank you for helping me hold on to hope.
