My dear friend Jean Mary and his family in Jacmel, Haiti, are in urgent need of support. Jean Mary, his wife Yvrose, and their three children are facing displacement and need to move out of their current rental home by December of this year. They’ve started building a house of their own—a safe place to raise their family—but due to extreme financial hardship, they haven’t been able to complete it.
Right now, the home still needs:
•Plumbing installed
•Doors put in
•Interior finishing
We are hoping to raise $25,000 to help Jean Mary complete these essential steps and give his family a secure and dignified place to live.
Why This Matters:
Jean Mary is a pillar in his community. He is a joyful, hard-working man, deeply committed to his family and neighbors. I’ve been to Haiti nine times, first through relief work and later simply to visit friends in Jacmel—people like Jean Mary who welcomed me like family.
Living conditions in Haiti have become even more difficult recently. Inflation has sky rocketed, and violent roadblocks between Port-au-Prince and Jacmel have made it nearly impossible to get supplies. Sometimes, materials are only reachable by boat, which drastically increases costs. In the midst of all this, Jean Mary continues to work tirelessly to give his family a safe and stable home.
How You Can Help:
Because GoFundMe does not currently send funds directly to Haiti, I will personally be transferring the money raised to Jean Mary through Western Union.
✅ Every donation helps—no amount is too small.
✅ Sharing this page with others helps even more!
Together, we can support a father who is doing everything he can to care for his family under extremely difficult circumstances. Thank you for helping us make a lasting difference in Jean Mary’s life!
Many many many thanks,
Megan Wills
