Help Jean Continue Her Healing Journey from Stage 4 Cancer

Hi, I’m Bella, and I’ve created this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Jean. From the very beginning of her cancer journey, I, along with so many in Jean’s community, have witnessed firsthand the courage, grace and determination she brings to this incredibly challenging journey.

Jean has discovered a combination of treatments that is genuinely supporting her healing, but as is often the case with alternative therapies, the financial burden has become overwhelming. These treatments are helping her body recover, but continuing on this path is only possible with support. This fundraiser is here to help ease that load so Jean can focus fully on what matters most, her healing and being present with her family.

I know how difficult it has been for Jean to reach out for help. She has never wanted to burden anyone. But now, more than ever, she needs her community to rally around her and help carry her through this next phase of her healing.

JEAN'S STORY

" My cancer journey has been over two years now. I first found a lump in February 2023, but I ignored it, I truly believed I would never get ill in my whole life! I’ve always lived a healthy life, looked after my body and done everything “right.” Not long after I’d found my lump a close friend of mine passed away from cancer, it shocked me and really made me feel like I needed to get myself checked out. That’s when I went to the hospital for tests and a week before my birthday in July 2023, I was officially diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. It was a huge shock to me and my family.

At that time I decided not to have a lumpectomy and went down lots of rabbit holes, trying different alternative approaches that ultimately didn’t work for me. I hit a really low point, feeling lost, scared and grappling in the darkness, desperately seeking that one solution that could save me. I largely buried my head in the sand, pretending I had it all together and was healing, unbeknown to me that the cancer was spreading. Fast forward to July 2024, exactly a year after my initial diagnosis, and my reality has forced me to confront the challenges head-on.

Last summer, I went back to the hospital to ask for a lumpectomy, knowing the lump had grown. But by then, it was too big for surgery, and after CT and PET scans I was told the cancer had spread to my bones, particularly my spine and pelvis. They also found nodules in my lungs. It was absolutely the worst news ever and myself and my family were devastated. I just didn’t see it coming at all. Things did not look good for me.

In October ‘24, I started pharmaceutical treatment, but alongside that, I’ve been using powerful natural plant therapies, along with high-quality supplements and the best nutrition I can afford, to protect my body and help me heal. The pharmaceuticals are pretty harsh, and I have to have regular blood tests to check my liver, ECGs to make sure my heart is ok, and constant monitoring to ensure my body can handle it all.

When I went for my regular check-up post-scan in December 2024 my Oncologist was amazed that the pharmaceuticals had worked so quickly. I hadn’t told them that I was taking this amazing natural plant therapy, and they said they’d never seen someone respond so fast. I truly believe it’s the natural therapy that is doing the work, especially since the pharmaceuticals are only meant to stop the cancer from growing and spreading, not to reduce it. I was also told that I would have to be on these pharmaceuticals for the rest of my life, even though they cause massive, detrimental side effects, which was such a worry at the time.

But here’s the amazing part; my scan in January showed that my spine is healing, and the nodule in my lung is gone. I am healing, and I truly believe I can get to the all-clear this year.

I need to continue my treatment plan, both the pharmaceuticals and my tried and tested natural plant therapies, for at least another 6 to 12 months. These natural treatments have been a game-changer in keeping me strong, and they help to mitigate the damage and side effects of the pharmaceuticals, (which can be extremely debilitating, hair loss, fatigue, liver & kidney damage, the list is long). Without the natural treatments, I don’t know how I would manage the impact of these strong medications. However, these natural treatments cost me over £500 a month, which has been a huge strain to find, it’s been stressful to say the least!

As a mother, my greatest wish is to be here for my little boy, to see him grow up and to share precious moments with my older children and grandchildren. This has been the biggest and hardest challenge of my life, facing death and the thought of not being here for them. I’m doing my very best to keep life as normal as possible for my little boy, who I home educate, and I’m trying my hardest to keep my spirits up, work on myself and maintain as much normality as possible for my family.

Sharing my story makes me feel very vulnerable, however I know I need to do it to relieve the financial stress and stay on this healing path. If you can help in any way, I’d be forever grateful, every little bit will make a difference. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this means so much.
