In the face of adversity, my cousin Jean Consorte Lanuza and her family in Naga City, Bicol have shown remarkable resilience. Despite losing all their belongings due to the severe flooding caused by Tropical Storm Kristine, they have not lost hope.

Their two-story home became a refuge for their neighbors, and they shared what little food they had. My niece and her 12-year-old son were evacuated by brave neighbors using a makeshift banana boat.
