Hello! My name is JD and I am a junior in high school and a Scout in Troop 874. I want to help reduce the amount of single-use plastics my community uses. According to Plasticoceans.org, "50% of all plastic produced (380 million tons each year) is for single-use purposes - used for just minutes and then thrown away." The website goes on to say, "10 million tons of plastic are dumped into our oceans annually."

This is a huge problem for our environment, and I want to make a change. With this Scouts BSA project, I am starting right here at home, in my community. ALL donations from this fundraiser will be used to purchase and install a reusable water bottle refill station in the San Ramon Senior Center.
