Julius (Eddie) Lofton is the owner and founder of
JC Lofton’s Inc. a 3rd generation tailoring and apparel company located in the historic U St NW corridor of Washington, D.C.
The Lofton family legacy began in 1938 when his Grandfather , Joseph Cephas Lofton opened and operated a successful tailoring and apprentice shop also in Washington, D.C.
Eddie’s Grandfather was one of the few minorities during this period that had been awarded a government contract to help and assist veterans and handicap individuals as he taught them the tailoring trade. He also ran a drug treatment program as well.
Since that time, Eddie, his first cousins, Cheryl and Kirk Lofton have all opened tailoring shops in the Washington , D.C. and Atlanta, GA. areas.
Eddie has often spoken of his Grandfather and his teachings. He has told us all how he was always willing to help others. He said that he based his business on integrity , fairness and his commitment to the community.
Eddie clearly possesses the same qualities and beliefs. He has assisted many college students in the Washington area. He has taught and given them tailoring advice and good business practices in general. We have watched as he has given away free tailoring services to them as well.
JC Lofton’s Inc. has been affected by the pandemic just as most business in our country has at some level. Unfortunately, he had to lay off 5 employees and he mentioned that his sales were down $200k from the previous year.
It is all of our hope that Eddie and the Lofton family Legacy will be able to continue to grow and prosper for many years to come.
We all would appreciate any assistance that can be afforded to JC Lofton’s Inc.
