We are raising funds for Jaslynn Ednaliz Montanez, whom her parents lovingly call Jazzy. On Monday, October 12, Jazzy was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle on Washington Street in Wallingford, and the driver fled the scene, leaving this innocent little girl seriously injured. Jazzy is being hospitalized in intensive care. Although she has been making some small improvements, she and her family still have a difficult road ahead.

As a father and grandfather, this absolutely breaks my heart. I cannot imagine what her parents are going through. After speaking personally with Jazzy’s father, Juan Montanez, and receiving his permission, we are establishing this GoFundMe to help cover Jazzy’s medical expenses, rehabilitation, and the financial hardships her family may face during her recovery.

My business partner, Ron Speckhart, and I, through our company, Abrasive Finishing Industries, LLC, in Wallingford, are pledging the first $1,000 to help get this fundraiser started. All donations, after GoFundMe’s processing fees, will go directly to Jazzy’s father, Juan Montanez, through GoFundMe’s beneficiary system. Neither Ron nor I, nor our business, will receive any of the funds.

We are asking our fellow business owners, local companies, friends, neighbors, and everyone in our wonderful community to please consider helping.
