Help Jazlyn & Family Battle Cancer
Donation protected
Hi my name is Angie and I am fundraising for my granddaughter and her family in the next two phases of her cancer journey. Jazlyn is 6 years old, diagnosed with high risk metastatic neuroblastoma on 5/4/23. This is an aggressive rare cancer with less than 200 kids diagnosed per year. At diagnosis she had cancer in a lymph node, both shoulders, both femurs, pelvis, and bone marrow and the main tumor was next to the left kidney, invading the stomach area, and wrapped around the main aorta.
She Immediately started treatment, which consists of 3 phases. She completed phase 1 at the end of August. Phase 1 was 5 in patient chemotherapies and surgery which had complications and resulted in a 2 week hospital stay.
Follow up scans showed all cancer is gone from her bones, lymph node, and bone marrow but she does still have tumor left over that is wrapped in between the left kidney blood vessels and cannot be removed with surgery.
Phase 2 begins 10/6/23 and consists of 2 hospital stays of 3-6 weeks each stay and she will only have 2-3 weeks between each stay. In these hospital stays she will be getting higher dose chemo and stem cell transplants. After the 2 stays, she will get radiation Mon-Fri every morning for about 4 weeks. Her dad will be in the hospital each stay and taking her to her radiation appointments so he will not be working for about 4 or 5 months. This time off is unpaid for Abran.
All medical expenses have been covered by insurance, with the exception of a few medicine copays. Asking for help for mortgage, bills, car payments, etc. Stepmom (my daughter) works part time and they also have 3 other kids at home. Jazlyn has her little brother Chanito who is 1, and two older sisters Nathaly 11 and Jackie 9.
Any gift of support for their family will be so greatly appreciated to help alleviate the stress of the financial burden. And we ask always for prayers for complete recovery restoration, healing and comfort for Jazlyn.
